Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has issued notification for direct recruitment of 222 Asst Engineer & Other Posts in various Departments included in the Combined Engineering Service Examination (2009-10 to 2012-13).

TNPSC Vacancy Details:

Names of the Posts:

1. Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Water Resources Organization , PWD: 104 Posts

2. Assistant Engineers (Civil) in Building Organization, PWD: 50 Posts

3. Assistant Engineers (Electrical in PWD): 28 Posts

4. Assistant Engineer in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department: 18 Posts

Age limit :

Educational Qualification:

Application Fee Details:

Candidates need to pay examination fee of Rs. 175/- (Examination Fee Rs. 125/- + Cost of Application Rs. 50/-) through Online or Offline mode. Fee must be paid through Net Banking, using Credit Card or Debit card for online mode. Through Offline payment fee paid through Challan (generated from bank website) in any Indian Bank branch or Post Office.

Selection Process:

Selection will be done on the basis of performance in main exam in Computer Based Test format & Oral Test.

Instructions for Online Application:

1. Before applying, the candidates should have scanned image of their photograph and signature.

2. Log on to www.tnpsc.gov.in web site.

3. Select “Apply Online” link besides the post to apply.

4. Candidates should fill all mandatory columns; upload photograph and signature at places provided enter the application fee details.

5. For offline mode application enter the Challan details as mentioned in the form and for online mode then an additional page of the application form will be displayed. Fill all the transaction details in the form click on ‘Submit’ button.

6. After submitting Application, application number and password will be generated.

7. Take a note and also take print of application and retain it for further use.

iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

 iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC Regulations 2010 in Appendix III

Director:
1. Computer Centre: 01post

Qualification:

 i) Ph.D. with First Class Degree at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in Engineering/ Technology/Science in Computer field. ii) Ten years experience in teaching/industry/research in the computer field, out of which 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system, shall also posses at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level

Assistant Professor:
1. Lifelong Learning: 01post

3. Centre for Women’s Studies: 01post

Qualification: 

i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. 

ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses 

(i) and (ii) above, the candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions
