Age Limit for Central Silk Board:

Candidates age should not more than 35 years for Posts 1 & 2, 30 years for Posts 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10, 27 years for Post 8, 25 years for Post 11, 12, 13 & 14 as on 14-03-2014. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Central Silk Board vacancy Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess Master’s degree in Science or Agricultural Science for Post 1, Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Textile for Post 2, M.Sc in Computer Science for Post 3, II Class Bachelor’s degree in Textiles for Post 4, II Class Master’s degree in Hindi for Post 5, Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering for Post 6. Refer to the notification for Post wise qualification.

Candidates will be selected based on performance in interview.

How to Apply for Central Silk Board:

Eligible candidates may apply online through the CSB website www.csb.gov.in. After applying online, candidates need to take print out of it, affix photograph with signature and send it along with photocopies of certificates in support of age, experience, disability , caste and educational qualification, in an envelope super scribed with “Application for the Post of …….”, send by post to
the Member-Secretary,

on or before 14-03-2014 and 24-03-2014 for remote areas.

Instructions for Applying Online:

1. Log on to the website www.csb.gov.in.
2. If you are a registered member then Click on Already Registered else go to New Registration.
3. After that fill all the details in the Application form and save as “Draft”.
4. The data is in Draft mode, so if there is any mistakes then correct it and then Click “Submission (Final)”.
5. After Submitting online, application number will be allotted.
6. Take print out of application and send it along with mentioned documents.

Candidates selected for the above posts are liable to be posted anywhere in India. Further, CSB has Units all over the country and there is all India transfer liability for all its employees.



Besides pay, the posts carry allowances as per Central Government rates.


Applicants serving under Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertakings must apply through proper channel. In case of advance copy, the application must be accompanied with all the required enclosures without which it will not be entertained. Additionally, a ‘NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE’ from the employer at the time of interview is essential.


The prescribed Educational Qualifications are minimum required and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the Advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible for the Board to interview all those candidates, the Board has the right to limit the candidates to be called for interview on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the Advertisement. The Board also reserves the right to call for Interview only those candidates who in its assessment are likely to be more suitable. The Board also reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process for any of the above posts / entire posts at any time without assigning any reasons. No correspondence will be entertained with candidates not selected for interview/appointment. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

Age Limit & Relaxations for Central Silk Board recruitment 2014:


i) The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of completed application as indicated above ie. 14th March, 2014.
ii) The age limit shown against all the posts is normal age limit as per Recruitment Rules. However, age is relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto 5 years and upto 3 years for OBC candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them.
iii) Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation over and above the upper age limit prescribed as per Govt. of India Rules i.e. by 5 years for posts at Sl No. 1 to 9 and by 10 years for posts at Sl. No. 10 to 14.
iv) Departmental candidates / Government Servants are eligible for age relaxation of 5 years as per Rules for posts from Sl. No. 1 to 9. For posts from Sl.No. 10 to 14, Departmental Candidates with 3 years regular service in the same line or allied cadres are eligible for age relaxation upto the age of 40 years (45 years for SC/ST and 43 years for OBC candidates against posts reserved for them).
v) Relaxation of 5 years will also be permissible to those who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 subject to production of relevant certificate from concerned authority.
vi) Relaxation of upper-age limit for Ex-serviceman will be applicable as per Govt. of India orders issued from time-to-time.
